The Embassy of India, Kathmandu invites online applications from Nepali students studying in Nepal for the Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Scheme (MGSS) and the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme (GJSS).

Online application forms can be submitted from 2082 Ashwin 20 to Kartik 16 (06.10.2025-02.11.2025) through the web portal www.goischolarship.com.np. The portal will close on 17 Kartik 2082 at 12 midnight (03.11.2025, 00:00 hrs.). Applicants can submit their application forms until 11:59 pm (02.11.2025, 23:59 hrs.) on 16 Kartik 2082. Kartik 16

Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Scheme 2025-26 for Class 11

1. qualification

The applicant must be a regular student of grade 11 (not a diploma student) studying in any recognized educational institution in Nepal. A certificate certified by the principal or head of the educational institution stating that the student is studying in grade 11 and is not receiving a scholarship from any other source must be uploaded.

The applicant must have obtained at least 60 percent marks (Aggregate) in class 10. The mark sheet of class 10 must be uploaded.

Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme for Undergraduate Courses 2025-26

1. qualification

The applicant must be a regular student studying in the first year of the undergraduate level (not a diploma) in any recognized educational institution in Nepal. A certificate certified by the principal or head of the educational institution stating that the student is studying in the first year of the undergraduate level and is not receiving a scholarship from any other source must be uploaded.

The applicant must have secured at least 70% marks (Aggregate) in Class 12 (excluding Class 11 marks). The Class 12 mark sheet must be uploaded.

Age Limit: Applicant must be between 17 and 22 years of age as of Ashar 17, 2083.

The applicant must be a Nepali citizen. The applicant must upload the citizenship certificate of himself and his parents (both mother and father).

In case of applicants with disabilities, a certificate issued by an official of the Government of Nepal (Local/District Administration Office, etc.) must be submitted.

The applicant's family annual income should be less than N.R. 2 lakh. Government of Nepal (Local/District Administration Office, etc.)

A recent income certificate issued by an official must be uploaded.

2. Scholarship Amount and Duration

Applicants selected for the scholarship will receive a scholarship of N.R. 24,000/- per annum for two years (Class 11 and 12).

2) A certificate duly certified by the principal or head of the educational institution stating that the student has gone to grade 12 and is continuing his/her studies, along with the percentage obtained in grade 11.

2. Scholarship Amount and Duration

The scholarship will be valid for the second year and beyond only after submitting the following documents:

Will be maintained for subsequent years:

1) Copy of the merit list(s) received each year;

2) A certificate duly certified by the principal or head of the educational institution stating that the student has progressed to the next year/semester of the undergraduate level and is continuing his/her studies, along with the percentage obtained in the previous year of the chosen course (aggregate percentage in the case of semester system).

Scholarship recipients may submit the above-mentioned documents by email to the mail ID '[email protected]' by December 31st of each year. Further installments of the scholarship will be deposited into the bank account (opened by the Embassy in the name of the scholarship recipient) only after receipt of the required documents. If the documents are not received within the specified time limit, the scholarship will be cancelled.

Things to pay attention to:

1. Applicants who have received scholarships from any other source will not be eligible for these scholarship schemes.

2. While submitting the application on the portal, applicants should clearly mention their name, address, email ID, contact number, merit number, etc. Also, to avoid rejection of the application, applicants should upload clear or legible documents as well as a recent passport size photograph on the portal.

3. The Embassy will send all scholarship-related information and notifications (such as verification of original documents, information about candidate selection, opening a bank account to deposit scholarship funds, guidelines, reminders, etc.) only to the registered email address, so in the future

Applicants must keep their email address and password secure for correspondence or contact.

4. As the online application form cannot be revised, applicants are advised to read the information or instructions mentioned in the form carefully before filling the online form. Applicants should ensure that they have submitted the form after receiving the 'Acknowledgement Receipt'. 5

Any documents sent via email or post after the application submission date will not be accepted.

6. Applicants are advised to interact/communicate only with the Education Division of the Embassy of India, Kathmandu.

7. Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship recipients who have not passed grade 11 and Golden Jubilee Scholarship recipients who are in their first year of undergraduate studies.

Those who do not pass in the year and subsequent years (both semesters) will not be eligible for the scholarship from that year onwards.

8. The Indian Embassy reserves the right to accept or reject applications and to continue or discontinue the scholarship.

Important information

The Embassy of India accepts applications directly from applicants only. The Embassy does not accept applications through any educational consultants or intermediaries or agencies in Nepal. All students are requested to be cautious of such unauthorized entities or persons. Applications through such entities or persons may be rejected.
