Notice regarding the entrance examination to be conducted

This notice has been published for the information of all concerned as the entrance examination to be conducted through computer-based method for admission of students to various undergraduate (B.E./B.Arch.) level programs for the academic year 2083/084 in the constituent campuses and affiliated colleges under the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, will be conducted from 28th Asad 2083 at the Institute of Engineering, Information and Communication Technology Center (ICTC), Pulchowk, Lalitpur, Paschimanchal Campus, Pokhara, Purbanchal Campus, Dharan and Thapathali Campus, Thapathali, Kathmandu as per the specified location, time and shift.

The 5 constituent campuses and 10 affiliated colleges operating under the Institute of Engineering Studies are as follows.

1. Minimum qualifications for application

Aerospace Engineering

1.1. Students who have passed the Proficiency Certificate Level or Higher Secondary Level or A Level or Engineering Diploma Level or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Grades 11 and 12 from Tribhuvan University or an educational institution recognized by it and have secured at least 45% of the total marks and Letter Grading (in the case of NEB) and have obtained a minimum of C Grade in the Final Grade of each subject or have appeared in the final examination of Grade 12 or equivalent or have appeared in the sixth semester examination of the Engineering Diploma will also be eligible to apply and participate in the entrance examination.

1.2. Foreign citizens will be allowed to apply for full-fee programs only. Full-fee programs in the affiliated campuses operated under the EC.

Seats equivalent to 1/12 of the full-fare seats in the program have been reserved for foreign nationals.

2. Method of filling the application form and required documents

2.1. The applicant himself/herself must fill out the entrance examination application form available on the Institute of Engineering's website https://entrance.ioe.edu.np and submit it online through the same website.

2.2. The Online Form on the website will be available only from 10:00 AM on 2083/03/03 to 5:00 PM on 2083/03/17. Therefore, you are advised to fill the exam form at any time within that period. The Online Form will automatically close after the specified time.

2.3. The application form can be filled out at any time on the specified days from any location with internet access.

2.4. Entrance examination fee amount Rs. 2,500.- (Two thousand five hundred rupees only) from any branch of Siddhartha Bank Ltd. within Nepal. The special voucher prepared by the bank for the entrance examination should be submitted. After the bank voucher is cut, the amount paid for the examination fee will not be refunded. In addition to the bank voucher, Siddhartha BankSmart service provided by Siddhartha Bank can be used free of charge to deposit the application fee. Additional charges will be levied as per the rules of the said service for using Connect IPS/eSewa/Khalti wallet/IME Pay. Detailed details for the payment process using Connect IPS/eSewa/Khalti wallet/IME Pay or BankSmart can be viewed at https://entrance.ioe.edu.np. While filling the online form, the bank voucher number or Transaction ID Number (Connect IPS/eSewa/Khalti wallet/IME Pay) must be filled in.

Applicants must submit the entrance exam fee by 3:00 PM on 17/03/2083. The application form must be completed by 5:00 PM on the same day.

2.5. The applicant must fill in the following information, strictly following the instructions given while filling out the form.

(a) Applicant's identity: Name of applicant and parents, date of birth, permanent address, details of SLC/SEE and I.Sc./10+2/A level/Engg. Diploma or equivalent results, recent 350×300 Pixel Color Digital Photo with Plain Background showing full forehead

(Photos of other sizes will not be accepted). (b) Since the number of candidates is limited for each date, location and shift, the applicant should fill out the form as soon as possible to confirm the date, location and shift of the examination that suits him/her. Once confirmed, the date, location and shift of the examination will not be changed.

2.6. While filling the online form, you will have to upload a digital copy of a photo and signature of a document that identifies you (such as citizenship certificate, national identity card, driving license, passport, I.Sc/10+2/Engg. Diploma final year/semester examination admit card) mentioning the number of the document.

2.7. After completing and submitting the online exam form, you will need to print the Acknowledgement Page that you will receive immediately.

2.8. Applicants who have submitted the online form should confirm whether their name is on the date, place and shift specified by them on the Acknowledgement Page received in point no. 2.7, otherwise they should contact the Entrance Examination Board by 1:00 PM on 2083/03/23.

2.9. After 2083/03/26, the admit card will be made available online in phases according to the exam date of the candidates. The admit card will have to be downloaded and printed in color. The admit card will be mandatory to appear in the exam.

2.10. When coming to the entrance examination, along with the admit card, you will also have to bring the original ID (uploaded while filling the examination form) mentioned in the admit card along with a photograph showing your identity as per point no. 2.6.

3. Information regarding entrance exams and admissions

3.1. The entrance examination, which will be conducted through computer-based methods based on information technology, will consist of 100 objective questions carrying 1 mark each for a total of 100 full marks. Marks will be deducted at the rate of 5% for each incorrect answer.

3.2. According to the syllabus published by the IOE Entrance Examination Board on the website: https://entrance.ioe.edu.np, the examination will be conducted in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English for a total duration of two hours through computer method.

3.3. Additional information regarding entrance exams and admissions can be obtained from the "Detailed Information and Guidelines on Entrance Exams and Campus Admissions-2083" which will be made available later on the IOE website: https://entrance.ioe.edu.np.

3.4. Candidates who wish to get admission in various reserved quotas (women's quota, teachers/employees' quota, inclusive disadvantaged reservation quota, reserved quota for government and government-owned institutions, reserved quota for foreign nationals) in the constituent campuses should prepare all the necessary documents published in the "Detailed Information and Guidelines on Entrance Examination and Campus Admission-2083" before the commencement of the campus/college admission schedule of the EC.

3.5. The scorecard of the entrance examination must be downloaded from the website within one month from the date of publication of the examination results.

Note: Candidates who pass the undergraduate level B.E./B.Arch entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Engineering Studies of Tribhuvan University in the academic year 2083/084 will be eligible to be candidates for higher education scholarships in engineering subjects to be provided by the Ministry of Education and Sports, Government of Nepal, if they fulfill the legal criteria prescribed in the scholarship regulations.
