Information regarding "Military Welfare Scholarship (Homeland)"

1. This notice has been published for the information of all concerned regarding the provision of "Military Welfare Scholarship (Homeland)" for the academic session-2081 among the various programs run under the Military Welfare Fund.

2. Scholarship details

(a) Scholarship Amount: Annual lump sum of Rs. 25,000.- (twenty-five thousand) per student.

(b) Scholarship recipients: Sons/daughters of serving and retired soldiers of the Nepal Army.

(c) Current grade: Must have passed grade 4 to grade 12.

(d) Age of students: Must not have exceeded 21 years (n)

3. Students eligible for scholarships

(a) Must be the son/daughter of a serving or retired soldier of the Nepal Army.

(b) Only 1 (one) child (son/daughter) of the beneficiaries will receive the scholarship.

(c) Only students who have passed from grade 4 to grade 12 in the academic session 2081 will receive this facility.

(d) In the 2081 BS annual examination, students studying in community/government schools should have obtained an overall 40% (GPA 1.6) and students studying in institutional private schools should have obtained an overall 50% (GPA 2.0) and passed (in the certificate of merit where only grading is mentioned, for example: if grading is A+ or D, percentage

(or GPA must be open). (e) Must be studying in schools and colleges recognized by the Government of Nepal (if the educational institution is run in Nepal by another foreign country, it must be recognized by the Government of Nepal and the recognized document must be submitted).

(f) In the case of serving soldiers, only descendants (sons/daughters) duly registered through the Nepal Army's HR Digitization will receive this facility.

(g) If one (1) son or daughter of a couple of current and retired beneficiaries who were injured during the past conflict and are in need of assistance (certified by the Directorate of Ceremony Operations), who died in the line of duty while fighting a fire in Ramechhap district, and who died in a landslide in Ramche, Rasuwa district, is studying in an educational institution run at the expense of the Army Welfare Fund or in empanelled schools, then another one (1) son or daughter can be applied for, and if two of the sons are not studying in an educational institution run at the expense of the Army Welfare Fund or in empanelled schools, then two (2) children can be applied for.

(h) In the case of twin children, if they have passed the entrance examination for studying at a military educational institution, one child is studying at full fees and the other child is not studying at a military educational institution at a concessional rate, as per the provision that one child can study at a concessional rate and the other child can study at full fees.

(i) One child adopted as a godchild by a serving or retired general of the Nepal Army in accordance with the prevailing Nepalese law.

4. Students who are not eligible for scholarships

(a) Students studying in educational institutions run at the expense of the Welfare Fund in the academic session 2081 BS (including schools/colleges and colleges run under the Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences). (If the student is studying in the said colleges/schools on a fee-paying basis or under the non-military quota, a recommendation letter from the concerned person stating that he/she is not studying on concessional basis must be submitted.)

(b) Students receiving the "Commander-in-Chief Scholarship" distributed from the Welfare Fund. (Families of those who died in the line of duty and in the line of duty are not eligible to apply for this scholarship)

(c) One (1) child of the beneficiaries is currently enrolled in educational institutions with empanelled agreements.

(d) Persons who have been dismissed for various reasons during their service period and have not received a lease for welfare family benefits will not be allowed to apply for welfare scholarships.

(e) Students studying in foreign schools outside Nepal.

(f) If you have received a scholarship for Grade 12 in the previous academic session, you will not be able to apply for another child as this facility is only available to one child per couple.

5. Documents that must be submitted along with the application (Documents must be original when filling the application online)

(b) Copy of the annual report card for the academic session 2081.

(c) Copy of birth registration certificate or citizenship.

(d) Copy of military identity card (in case the military identity card is not issued, a letter of recommendation from the unit stating that the identity card has not been issued)

(e) Copy of marriage registration certificate.

(a) Copy of character certificate or school recommendation letter.

(b) Copy of the annual report card for the academic session 2081.

(c) Copy of birth registration certificate or citizenship.

(d) Copy of pension contract (page with name of the person concerned and name of the person to be nominated)

(e) Copy of marriage registration certificate.

(f) Relationship certificate from the concerned Municipal Corporation/Local Corporation (details of all descendants should be mentioned).

1. While submitting the above mentioned documents, details like students' names, date of birth, marks obtained in the merit list should be clearly disclosed.

2. A certified document stating that the person was injured during the past conflict and needed support (from the Ceremony Operations Directorate), a copy of the identity card or certificate in the case of a soldier who died in the line of duty while fighting a fire in Ramechhap district, or a copy of the identity card in the case of a soldier who died in a landslide in Ramche in Rasuwa district, a recommendation letter from the concerned ward office stating the name of the person who will be adopted as a godchild/daughter, the date of adoption (even if only the year is mentioned) and the name of the godchild/daughter, a recommendation letter from the concerned ward/village/municipality and a completely damaged earthquake victim identity card for beneficiaries who died in the devastating earthquake in the 14 districts affected by the 2072 BS earthquake, and in the case of twin children, one child is studying at a military educational institution at a concessional rate and one child at a full fee, as per the provision that one child is studying at a military educational institution at a concessional rate and the other child is studying at a military educational institution at a concessional rate. A recommendation letter from the college stating that it has not been done must be submitted.
